1. Configuration of the cylindrical roller bearing is the simplest of all antifrication roller bearings.
2. Cylindrical roller bearings are often used in high-speed applications. Because the inner ring, outer ring and rollers are in line contact, this bearing can accommodate large radical loads.
3. Configurations having integral flanges or loose ribs on both the inner and outer rings will allow the cylindrical bearing to accept small amounts of axial loading.
4. Typical applications: electric motors, automotive applications, and drive (driven) shafts.
