Home electronics maker Sampo reportedly reached NT$10.63 billion (US$367.46 million) in revenues during 2012, up 22% on year, while Tatung's revenues dropped 16.2% on year to NT$32.18 billion.
Sampo saw good results from its 32- and 42-inch TV sales as well as from its 55-inch smart TVs, which amounted to roughly 210,000 LCD TV shipments for the company during the year, according to industry sources.
Tatung meanwhile failed to cash in on additional revenues it had from major cases at the end of the year, and also saw lower-than-expected results from its 55-inch LCD TV sales, said the sources.
Additionally, Teco has reported NT$25.61 billion in revenues for 2012, down 1.59% on year. The company was able to maintain steady revenues due to developing new products such as large-size fans and is likely to develop more smart home appliances in 2013.
