The "Taipei International Auto Parts & Accessories Show" (Taipei AMPA) organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and will be hosted simultaneously with the "9th Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei), "9th Taiwan Int'l Motorcycle Show" (Motorcycle Taiwan) and "4th Taiwan International Electric Vehicle Show" (EV Taiwan) from April 9-12 to become the only professional trade show platform to feature both two and four wheel vehicles in Asia. The 4-in1 mega show will bring together nearly 4,000 booths to create the most professional and extensive auto and motorcycle show in Asia, maximizing business opportunities in partnership with buyers from over 130 countries around the world. After attracting 48,000 local and foreign buyers with last year's show, the combination of auto parts, auto electronics, motorcycle and electric vehicles is expected to generate even better show synergies and push the number of local and foreign visitors up to 60,000. Taipei AMPA's 30-Year Partnership with the Auto Parts Industry The Taiwanese auto parts and accessories industry has, over the years, shifted from OEM production to low-volume, high-mix ODM production. Products have also gained widespread reputation among major international brands in terms of safety, reliability and innovation. Annual exports have continued to grow in value reaching US$6 billion between January to November, 2013, up 1.3% over the same period in the previous year. The top three export markets in terms of growth were Poland, Russia and the U.K. at 48.79%, 43.03% and 19.36% respectively. Auto parts produced by Taiwan including headlights, bumpers, rubber and plastic parts/accessories are now ranked 1st in the world in terms of market share and account for 80 ~ 90% of the global after-sales market. "Taipei AMPA" is taking advantage of this trend. While the first show held at Songshan Airport in 1984 had a total of 111 vendors in 185 booths, it has since grown so much that the 2014 4-in-1 mega show will feature 1,346 vendors in 3,665 booths, which is a record in terms of exhibitor numbers and total area. In just 30 years, Taiwan's auto parts and accessories industry and its exports have grown to a startling size. The growth of Taipei AMPA has also kept pace with the industry. For the 30th anniversary of Taipei AMPA, the strong demand from the global auto accessories market means that exhibitors have decided to increase the number of booths to promote their brand image at this year's show. Global Buyers Flock to "2014 Taipei AMPA" for Latest Product Releases The main products on display at Taipei AMPA include auto engine parts, maintenance equipment, brake systems, auto electronic parts and repair tools. The auto parts area brings together top-tier suppliers in Taiwan and exhibitors have chosen to display their latest products with larger booths in a demonstration of their ambitions in the international market. Leading suppliers include the after-market alloy rim maker "TFT Racing Co., Ltd.", the car light maker "Eagle Eyes" and the 50-year-old local car light maker "Sonar Auto Parts". The world's largest auto, motorcycle, truck and bus light maker "TYC Brothers" as well as "Coplus Corp." with buyers all around the world will also unveil world-leading auto light products at the show. Another display area that has attracted a great deal of attention is the "Tuning and Restyling Area". Taiwan's after-market parts makers cannot only provide high-quality products at reasonable prices but are also capable of rapid product development and high-mix, low-volume production. These strengths give them a competitive edge in the global after-mark parts market. Representative suppliers include the shock absorber developer "Taiwan Bor-Chuann Enterprise Co., Ltd.", the bumper and body kit maker "Maxin Innovation Inc.", veteran aluminum alloy rim maker "Yao Cheer Co., Ltd." and the ISO-certified LED auto light maker "Mycarr Lighting Technology Co., Ltd." As drivers are now attaching greater importance to auto maintenance, the show's relatively new "Repair and Maintenance Area" is set to be a hive of activity. Major auto servicing company "Lihyann Industrial Co., Ltd." and Taiwan's top pneumatic hand tool maker "Kuani Gear Co., Ltd" will be actively competing for orders at Taipei AMPA. Major Auto Electronics Makers Seize Taiwan's ICT Advantage heading to "AutoTronics Taipei" Taiwan's world-leading ICT industry gives auto electronics makers a strong R&D advantage that they are now using to challenge the global market. This year's AutoTronics Taipei is the largest ever and 110 exhibitors in 250 booths are expected. Among them is the infotainment system vendor "E-Lead Electronic Ltd." which is expanding its footprint through strategic alliances in a bid to become the largest supplier in Chinese-speaking markets. Leading vendors including power transmission system vendor "Mobiletron Electronics Co., Ltd", car display maker "Jet Optoelectronics Co., Ltd." and auto electronics developer/maker "Tung Thih Electronic Co., Ltd." will also showcase high-quality products. The wide variety of innovative products will make this year's AutoTronics show all the more appealing for global buyers. Taiwan's World-Famous Motorcycle Industry Triggers Two-Wheel Market Opportunities Taiwan has long been the global motorcycle industry's favored supplier with more than 95% of its motorcycles being built domestically. According to the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association (TTVMA), 300,000 motorcycles were exported between January ~ November 2013 and total value exceeded US$430 Million. This year's Motorcycle Taiwan show is divided into three main areas: Motorcycles, Parts & accessories and Motorcyclists' Accessories. Apart from leading parts vendors from previous years such as motorcycle part maker "Chian-Yie Industrial Co., Ltd", motorcycle rubber parts maker "Yih Jing Traffic Co., Ltd", and past Taiwan Excellence Award winner and auto repair tool manufacturer "King Tony Tools Co., Ltd." Another highlight this year is the jump in number of exhibitors and booths in the Motorcyclists' Accessories area. Exhibitors will include motorcycle merchandise vendor "Hwan Shin Enterprise Co., Ltd", helmet maker "Tong Ho Hsing Industrial Co., Ltd" and motorcyclist footwear maker "Exustar Enterprise Co., Ltd." Latest Green Energy Trend at "EV Taiwan" Takes World into Eco-friendly Future The rise of eco-friendly green energy in the global market means electric vehicles are now a key area of development in many countries. This year's EV Taiwan show features about 120 exhibitors in up to 290 booths and includes leading local EV makers such as "Pihsiang Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd." which is currently aggressively developing the European market, electric "last-mile" transport maker "Dijiya Energy Saving Tech Inc", swappable battery developer "Kentfa Advanced Technology Corp." and dual battery system developer "Chumpo Eco-Tech Co., Ltd". These exhibitors will bring with them their latest electric vehicle products. The popularity of the American "Tesla" company in recent years has spurred a global push toward high-end electric vehicles. It is particular inspiring to note that its supply chain includes well-known Taiwanese manufacturers such as electric motor maker "Fukuta Elec. & Mach. Co., Ltd", electrical-mechanical control module maker "Chroma ATE Inc", auto fastener maker "Sumeeko Industries Co., Ltd." all of which will be taking part in the 4th EV Taiwan show this year. Apart from the above, "Tatung" a household name in Taiwan, will show an electric vehicle motor it has developed for all kinds of transport uses for the first time at EV Taiwan. Another first-time exhibitor is "Van Power Sciences Co., Ltd", a maker of popular long-range electric bus and motorcycles used in China, as well as "ABB Ltd", a maker of electric vehicle charging equipment. The wide range of products from EV exhibitors will make this year's show all the more interesting. Combination of "Auto Parts in the North, Fasteners in the South" Maximizes Business Opportunities for 2014 The 2014 "Taipei International Auto Parts and Accessories Show", the "Taipei International Auto Electronics Show", the "Taiwan International Motorcycle Show" and "Taiwan International Electric Vehicle Show" will be held simultaneously at Nangang Exhibition Hall 1 and TWTC Exhibition Hall 1 from April 9-12. This means it will be held in conjunction with the "Taiwan International Fastener Show" at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center on April 14-15, creating a synergistic effect. Asia's largest auto and motorcycle parts and accessories show is expected to boast 1,346 exhibitors in 3,665 booths. As this year coincides with the AMPA's 30th anniversary, the organizer will not only host an opening ceremony/innovative product awards ceremony, 1-on-1 procurement meetings and industry seminars, but will also host a surprise celebration showcasing all the great memories for local and foreign exhibitors and buyers over the years. This 4-in-1 mega show will host 1,500 firms to use 5,000 booths in 2014 for the best shows on wheels!
