Expand into Growing Markets in Southeast Asia with the Taipei International Sporting Goods Show (TAISPO)
Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the organizer of both Taipei Int’l Sporting Goods Show (TaiSPO) and Taipei Int’l Cycle Show (TAIPEI CYCLE), was on the road in Manila, Singapore, and Bangkok late October, presenting "Taiwan Cycle and Sporting Goods Business Seminars" to growing markets for sporting & cycling goods in Southeast Asia. The seminars attracted over 130 business representatives in total, and many started to plan for the visit to the upcoming TaiSPO and TAIPEI CYCLE, to be held concurrently March 18-21 in 2015, at Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Exhibition Halls 1 and 3 and Nangang Exhibition Hall.

According to research by MarketLine, the market size of the fitness club industry in Asia is estimated to reach USD 31 billion in 2017, with annual growth reaching 12.8%. In 2014, TaiSPO unveiled the first-ever "Asian Fitness Industry and Club Management Forum", attracting 300 fitness trainers, fitness equipment manufacturers, dealers and agents from Taiwan and overseas. In 2015, TaiSPO plans to expand the forum into a two-day event, with "Fitness Club Management Zone" offering opportunities to source under one roof products and services for managing fitness clubs.
Mr. Wilson Yap, Director of Southern Backpack Pte Ltd (Singapore), plans to visit TaiSPO 2015 for outdoor products, as Taiwan supplies 70% of functional textile used for sportswear and accessories worldwide. Mr. Toots Chua, the President of LIFE CYCLE BICYCLE SHOP (the Philippines), has visited TAIPEI CYCLE for 15 consecutive years. He is particularly impressed with the transformation of Taiwan cycling industry into global supplier of high end bicycles, accounting for over 50 percent of the market share locally.
