Wissmann: At 931,700 visitors, this IAA has more than fulfilled our expectations

“The 66th IAA Cars has more than fulfilled ourexpectations. The perfect weather on the final IAA weekend brought another flood of visitors to the show. The total of 931,700 visitors at the IAA was over 50,000 more than two years ago at the world’smost important trade show for mobility – a riseof around 6 percent. That is the best result for eightyears. The visitors to the IAA are younger this time and on average 34 years old – atthe previous IAA the average age was 37. The IAA motto, ‘Mobility connects,’ was realized in a great many ways – connecting and digitalizing mobility were a defining feature of this IAA and point far into the future,” stressed Matthias Wissmann, Presidentof theGerman Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).

The VDA organizes the IAA. With 1,103 exhibitors from 39 countries and 219 world premieres – 60 more than two years ago – the IAA has further expanded its position as the leading international trade show for mobility. Over 11,000 journalists from 106 countries reported on the IAA, which closes its doors after eleven days, at 19.00 h on September 27, 2015.

After the IAA comes the IAA. The 67th IAA Cars will take place in Frankfurt am Main from September 14 to 24, 2017, with Press Days on September 12 and 13, 2017.
