LivingInteriors 2016: Experiencing bathing areas newly

Dec 02, 2015

With top-quality exhibitors and an interactive room installation, the Bath area is going to be one of the highlights at this year's LivingInteriors

Effegibi, Florim Ceramiche, Geberit, Hansgrohe/Axor, Keramag, Klafs, LG Hausys, TheSize, Villeroy & Boch, Vola... many big-name brands in the industry from both Germany and abroad will be in attendance when LivingInteriors presents innovative bathroom and interiors concepts to its trade audience at the beginning of 2016. From 18 to 24 January, architects, designers, planners and interior decorators can find new inspiration for contemporary bathroom design and, in a unique installation in the special dedicated Bath area, rediscover the sensuous experience of showering

Bathroom design is on trend. The bathroom, until recently little more than a functional space, is increasingly opening itself to the rest of the home. It is becoming a meeting place, a place for wellness, and an oasis in which to replenish the energy needed for the day. Today, the bathroom is designed to offer comfort to all generations. The broad diversity of bathroom design, ranging from luxury bathrooms to optimal functionality in a confined space, is reflected in the exhibitor portfolio of LivingInteriors.

In addition to the product presentations of individual exhibitors, an inspiring event area will be dedicated to the Bath segment this year: On behalf of Hansgrohe, the platform for architecture and design, Stylepark, has called upon interior designers from Germany to develop new concepts addressing the topic of "Rooms and Water". A two-step process was employed to determine the winner: brandherm + kumrey interior architecture, based in Cologne.

The concept "AXOR reACT" in the event area in Hall 4.2 is an interactive room installation consisting of cylinders of various heights and diameters, which function as showers. Depending upon their diameter and distance from the floor, the quantity and intensity of the water flow change, as well as the temperature, so that the visitor can experience the many different possibilities water has to offer. The various shower cylinders are controlled by motion sensors built into the floor, so that the water can drizzle, rain, storm, drip and rush down onto the person showering below. The result is a sensuous installation, in which the healing and vitalising effect of water is presented in all its many facets at LivingInteriors.
