The seven day event that kick-started yesterday in Bangalore is being organized by India Machine Tools Manufacture Association (IMTMA).
Imtex Forming 2016 has showcased latest machine equipments, processes, tools, accessories, software and raw materials as well as feed stocks required to manufacture formed parts in every engineering application including automotive sector.
Around 50,000 visitors are expected during this event that attracted over 70 trade delegations from various manufacturing industries and exhibitors from 23 countries with 4 country partners China, Germany, Taiwan and Japan, Godrej said.
Karnataka Large and Medium Industries Minister R V Deshpande, said, “The availability of skilled workforce in the state would play an important role in the machine tool industry growth Karnataka.”
Several domestic and foreign machine tool, test and validation equipment manufacturers have showcased their product in the expo.
Notable companies that displayed products used in the automotive industry include Germany-based automotive measurement & validation equipment manufacturer Carl Zeiss, Angel India Cad Cam, Mazak, TPI, Bearings and Nachi.
Japan-based Nachi has showcased its robotic solutions that can be used in the auto manufacturing facilities.
TPI, Taiwan-headquartered ball bearing giant, have displayed its bearings suitable for machine tool industry.
Interestingly this time, several engineering colleges including Chennai Institute of Technology, RV College of Engineering and Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology have participated with their students in the expo.
The event also hosts ‘Connect’, an awareness programme involving students from both mechanical and electrical engineering courses can gather more knowledge about manufacturing industry.

The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) inaugurated IMTEX FORMING 2016 and concurrent Tooltech 2016 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre today.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of Shri R. V. Deshpande, Hon'ble Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka, Dr. V.K. Saraswat, Hon’ble Member, NITI Aayog, and Mr. Vishvajit Sahay, Joint Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry, Government of India. Mr. Jamshyd N. Godrej, Chairman Exhibitions, IMTMA, Mr. P.G. Jadeja, President, IMTMA, Mr. P. Ramadas, Vice President, IMTMA and Mr. V. Anbu, Director General, IMTMA were also present.
